Business Development History
Early on, HBCTECH entered into cooperation with Corneal Laboratories (France) and launched SK-Gel (glaucoma product) and IOLs in China exclusively. The introduction of SK-Gel into China has also brought SK-Gel combined with Non-Penetrating Glaucoma Surgery (NPGS) to Chinese patients, and patients with open-angle glaucoma have a new and more effective surgical treatment option.
HBCTECH also entered into an exclusive partnership with New World Medical Inc to launch its glaucoma product, Ahmed Glaucoma Valve, where the aqueous humor drainage implant has been successfully applied to hundreds of thousands of Chinese glaucoma patients since its introduction to China. The Chinese Medical Association Ophthalmology Branch Glaucoma Group has organized several academic seminars to come to an expert consensus on the standard surgical operation of Ahmed – <Expert Consensus on Surgical Operation of Glaucoma Valve Implantation> ( 2016) and (2019, 2nd edition), with more standardized guidelines on surgical operation and perioperative treatment, so that the majority of ophthalmologists can have a more comprehensive understanding of this product and provide better clinical and treatment. The company did a lot of work to the development and promotion of glaucoma drainage surgery.
Besides, we are also the leader in minimally invasive glaucoma surgery (MIGS). With the introduction of Kahook Dual Blade, doctors have a new tool in addition to the traditional glaucoma filtration surgery. Because it is less destructive to the anatomical structure, need less time of surgery, and quick recovery, it’s future clinical application is very prosperous.
In the field of cataract, HBCTECH was also the exclusive agent of CROMA (later acquired by Valeant) in China, and took the lead in promoting preloaded hydrophilic intraocular lenses, preloaded tension rings and corneal protectants in China. 发展历程
公司早期与Corneal Laboratories (法国)达成合作，在国内独家推出了SK-Gel(青光眼产品)及人工晶状体等产品。SK-Gel的引入中国市场，同时也把SK-Gel联合非穿透性青光眼手术带给了中国患者，开角型青光眼患者有了新的更加有效的手术治疗方案。
公司同时也与New World Medical Inc 达成了独家合作，在中国市场推出了其青光眼产品——Ahmed青光眼引流阀，该引流植入物自引入中国到目前为止，已经成功地应用于数十万中国青光眼患者。中华医学会眼科学分会青光眼学组先后组织了数次学术讨论会，形成了该产品规范的手术操作专家共识，《中国青光眼引流阀植入手术操作专家共识》（2016年）和（2019年2版），进一步的规范手术操作，以及围手术期的处理，以期广大眼科医师能够更加全面的认识该产品，提供更高的临床技能和诊疗水平。公司为青光眼引流阀植入手术的开展和推广做出了非常大的贡献。
此外，我们也是微创青光眼手术（MIGS）的引领者。Kahook Dual Blade的问世，让中国医生在传统青光眼滤过手术之外，有了一把新的手术利器。因为其对生理解剖结构破坏性小，且手术时间更短，恢复速度更快，临床应用前景备受关注。
在白内障领域，公司也曾是奥地利CROMA（之后被Valeant并购）在中国地区的总代理，率先在国内推广了预装式亲水性人工晶体，预装式张力环和角膜保护剂，在白内障领域深耕十多年，与广大白内障医生建立了良好合作关系。
